The debate

As all (most, maybe) parents do when they have a nuglet join them in their lives, Trish and I have been making daily comparisons between ourselves and Nora. We’ve been dragging out old baby photos then comparing and contrasting them with Nora – in the wild and on any of the approximately 235djfd9*@ ^2 pictures we’ve taken of her so far. The jury has deliberated and made their decision: Mom wins.

The evidence

The prosecution presents its first piece of evidence from Trish’s childhood – the infamous photo “high chair times, ‘82” :

We can clearly see here that Trish was always a good eater. That being said, it’s difficult to make Dad’s case considering this recent picture of Nora:

Nearly identical. The look of slight shock at, yet again, having their picture taken is shared as is their trend setting hair style. Let’s also notice the chins, both of them. Dad really has nothing at all here except maybe that Nora is on track to be taller than her Mom. True, it’s early, but Dad comes from a family of jumbos. It follows that his offspring will be at least half-jumbo, too.

The second piece of evidence is this next photo of Trish post-tubby in the also infamous “tubby time of ‘81” snapshot:

A fairly traditional moment this may be, but it’s the right hook in this one-two punch. Observe:

The differences in lighting and backgrounds are the only real differences between these two photos. Notice, again, the telling signature of the chin. If this isn’t a cut and dry case I don’t know what is.

It’s over

Dad’s officially done trying to pick out facial similarities between himself and Nora. I’m banking on cleaning up in the end game, how cool would it be to have a father/daughter 2 vs. 2 beach volleyball team?!? Besides, Mom is stunningly beautiful, it behooves Nora to take after her in that respect.
